The aftermath of the recent British riots saw several disturbing consequences. Of the dead and the looted you can read elsewhere, but as Uza is concerned with music, I focus on the arson that has destroyed PIAS' warehouse in Enfield, London. A subsidiary of Sony, PIAS distributes the catalogue of many highly regarded indie labels such as Ninja tunes, Warp, 4AD, Bad taste, Domino, Matador, Play it again Sam and many more. Thousands of CD's were destroyed, which literally means that those labels are in an immediate danger of going broke and closing up shop. THIS IS THE TIME when music fans should step up and support indie music. None of this legal/illegal download shit. There is no debate here: if those labels don't get immediate cash flow they, and the artists depending on them are kaput. Thus, get your asses and but some PIAS related release, either a physical copy at your local store, a digital copy at their website or the labels' site or simply check those links:
